Project: Spray Paint and Vases

Just finished a project I have been wanting to work on for a while now. Last year, I inherited my Great Grandmother's handmade yellow hutch and after looking at it empty in my apartment for several months I decided to finally put something in it! So over to the thrift store I went and sought out different vases in all different shapes and sizes. It was half-off day at the store (which was an extra bonus!) and for 16 vases I only spent $10 (Plus another $7 for an awesome chair I couldn't pass up). Add another $2 for a can of spray paint and I was ready to embark on my project. It took about 3-4 coats of paint, 24 hours and I had some beautiful white "milk glass" vases for my empty hutch. Take a look at the pictures below! What do you think?

Brandon and Rebecca and the Chocolate factory

Monday was Brandon and my 2 year anniversary. I can't believe how quickly the time has flown by. To celebrate we spent the day exploring a new side of San Francisco. We tracked down some food trucks for lunch and ate the most delicious Peruvian steak sandwich! After we finished stuffing our bellies we took a short walk to Pier17 and visited the TCHO (pronounced "cho") chocolate factory. At the factory we took a small tour and tasted about 10 different types of chocolate (all amazing!). Below are some pictures of our adventure!

Caveman way of life

Lately I have been trying out this new "diet" or "way of life" as I like to call it. It is based on a theory that our bodies run best when we eat like our caveman ancestors used. The Paleo Diet (in short) limits or excludes foods like breads, grains, legumes and dairy. I have been doing it for about two months (give or take) and I feel GREAT! It is amazing the changes I have noticed. The way of life does require a lot of cooking and meal preparation which has been new to me but I seem to be adjusting well. I have tried so many new recipes such as Citrus Carnitas, Eggplant Strata and Cauliflower Fried Rice. The cookbook Well Fed has been my best friend through this journey and I can't wait to try every recipe in the book! I think I could get used to feeling happy, heathy and productive. I recommend everyone try the Paleo way of life for at least a week to see how they feel. Check out some of these websites to find out more! You will not regret it

A New Beginning

Welcome to my blog! I'm extremely excited to introduce the new and improved Luna Lovely Blog! Here I will be sharing things about my life anything to do with inspiration, fashion, love and of course my little 8 pound Yorkie Jax. I hope to share fun and exciting adventures and stories as well. Now, a little about me.... I am a California native and proud of it! I grew up just north of the wonderful San Francisco in what is know as "Wine Country". It has been a beautiful place to live and everything you need is near by. I graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising Los Angeles in 2009 with a degree in Visual Communications. After completing school I experimented with wedding planning but quickly found specializing in such an industry was a big responsibility. I decided I wasn't ready for that kind of pressure so I  ventured back to the Bay Area. After being back home for a few months I decided to follow my dream of going to beauty school to become an esthetician. The beauty industry is a though one and I  am still in the process of finding my footing. Now, here I am a confused twenty-something trying to find my path to adulthood and a career. I hope you enjoy my finds and look forward to each and every post. Welcome to the NEW Luna Lovely!
